ISO 31000 Enterprise Risk Management Assessment Micro-Lab

A guided micro-lab for leaders and practitioners to learn
what is needed to establish a common foundation
for governing and managing risk to achieve and protect success
.

Every important business decision involves uncertainty. New technology, suppliers, regulatory change, operational dependencies, and strategic initiatives can create opportunity, expose the organization to loss, or do both at the same time. Organizations commonly manage these risks through specialized programs. Cybersecurity, information security, privacy, artificial intelligence, business continuity, compliance, finance, and operations may each use different methods, measures, and reporting structures.

But the risks do not remain inside those programs.

Does your organization have a common strategy for governing and managing risk? Can its leaders compare risks, coordinate treatment, and make informed decisions using consistent and measurable information? Use Certified Information Security’s ISO 31000 enterprise risk management assessment platform to find out.

Get hands-on experience with the Assessment System

This is not just a lecture or a framework overview. You will work directly in the Multi-Framework Assessment System by Certified Information Security using a guided demonstration scenario and learn to:

  • navigate the ISO 31000 principles, framework, and risk management process;
  • examine how risk management is integrated into governance, strategy, planning, operations, and decision-making;
  • identify the practices and evidence needed to support the organization’s enterprise risk strategy;
  • distinguish an established risk management capability from an unsupported assumption;
  • learn how assessment results can guide a carefully measured roadmap for improvement; and
  • see how the system can produce a professional, agency-quality report of the organization’s current enterprise risk management capability and readiness.
  • The goal is not to make every risk program identical. It is to ensure that every program contributes to one coherent enterprise understanding of risk, opportunity, and value.
  • Complete the micro-lab to receive a certificate of completion and earn 1 CPE credit.

The micro-lab demonstrates the nature, structure, and scale of professional assessment work. It does not claim to complete that work or replace the training required to perform it.

How this fits into the bigger picture of enterprise risk management

ISO 31000 is the international standard for planning, implementing, monitoring, and continually improving how an organization manages risk to achieve and protect value. That enterprise approach provides the common foundation required by every framework currently assessed through our platform:

  • NIST AI Risk Management Framework;
  • NIST Cybersecurity Framework 2.0;
  • ISO/IEC 42001 AI management systems;
  • ISO/IEC 27001 information security management systems; and
  • ISO 22301 business continuity management systems.

Each framework requires its specialty program to be anchored in the organization’s broader enterprise risk strategy. ISO 31000 helps these programs apply consistent risk principles, coordinate responsibilities, and communicate risk in terms leadership can compare and act upon.

Use Certified Information Security’s ISO 31000 enterprise risk management assessment platform to see whether your organization has established the common foundation needed to align its specialty risk programs. See what a credible, evidence-supported assessment requires and why trained practitioners and auditors are essential to effective risk governance, enterprise risk management, conformance assessment, and reporting.

What your team will get

  • The presentation: Remote participants will be able to see and hear slides as they are being taught, and we will expedite advance shipment of hard-copy manuals for each participant.

  • Course resources: Remote participants will also get secured access to our online learning management system where they will be able to access the same course material made available to our participants attending in-person, often including additional soft-copy roesources in class.

  • Attendance Certificate: A digital course attendance certificate will be provided upon successful completion of the training. Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits are awarded according to the course or session attended.

  • Professional Certification: If a live training session has professional certification preparation and exams included (and many do), remote participants will get the same online access to certification practice exams and applicable professional certification exams. Since exams are proctored online on demand, remote participants will not need to appear in person to take their exam(s).

  • Participation: Remote participants will be able to hear the presenter, as well as questions from the audience. They can also virtually "raise their hands" to ask a verbal question to be heard by all, which is verbally answered just as any other participant's question would be.
